Does Snow Leopard Vodka not only taste great but let you feel great about yourself?

Was reading For American Consumers, a Responsibility Revolution by Richard Stengel in TIME and what stuck out for me was this part:
We are again entering a period of social change as Americans are recalibrating our sense of what it means to be a citizen, not just through voting or volunteering but also through commerce: by what we buy…
Of the 1,003 adults we polled this summer…nearly 40% said they purchased a product in 2009 because they liked the social or political values of the company that produced it. That’s evidence of a changing mind-set, a new kind of social contract among consumers, business and government. We are seeing the rise of the citizen consumer — and the beginnings of a responsibility revolution.
It’s an interesting point. Obviously Snow Leopard Vodka was set up as an ethical vodka with the aim of helping to save the snow leopard but it also has to be an excellent, quality product because if it’s rubbish people won’t buy it.
But it raises the question of what people buy and why they buy. And shows that more and more people are now buying products which either make them feel better about themselves or that they know will help make a change.
A good read.
